SEESAW

This is my last entry. The next digital tool I’m gonna share is Seesaw.  The learning journal provides opportunities for students and teachers to really think outside the box. Students can show their work and thought processes in real time by submitting a video of themselves working through a math problem, snapping a picture of a paragraph they wrote, recording themselves reading a poem, or uploading a file to demonstrate their learning. Encourage kids to submit a series of images along the notes that tell the story that connects them. Let them collaborate with each other using peer-to-peer feedback to offer suggestions on writing content, scientific hypotheses, or creative ideas.

Teachers can use Seesaw to keep digital portfolios of student work ; including commenting on student submissions. You can communicate with families easily and share student work with them or push out assignments to students to individualize instruction. You can also choose work to share with a broader audience via blog.

Seesaw also was used a mean for communication between students who often shared photos of class notes or even exciting extracurricular events outside of school with one another. The uploaded of documents from Google Drive took time and practice for my middle school students. Parents also enjoyed being part of the Seesaw and receiving updates of their child’s progress and activity throughout the week

Pros
Cons
Both students and teacher interfaces are intuitive, and there are tons of ideas up for grabs in the Activity Library
In the paid skills feature, skills and standards must be manually entered

This digital tool to be beneficial in building reflective learners who took the time to think through their work and monitor their own progress. The students engagement while using this tool proved to be greatest advantage off them all. Students will like to use Seesaw and share their work products with one another as well as comment each other’s work. This tool also helps become more reflective and mindful of planning and pacing as educator.

Until then, THANKYOUUUUUU
